Look what some creative demonstrator did with the tab punch!!! How do they think of this.....gotta love it.
Yep....that little purse is a tab folded over!
This sample and lots more are on the demo side of the Stampin' Up! Website. There's a wealth of information, ideas, and training videos there too........but you have to be a demo to share in hte fun.
This is a great time to start your own Stampin' Up! business....the kit is on sale....the excitement of new products....and by joining my ByYOU Stampers team you will be in business FOR yourself...not BY yourself. We share and have lots of fun. Part time....Full time...or just to support your hobby. Check out the details and sign up on my website....email me for Q&A..........you'll need my password to complete the sign up process (ByYOUstamper) Oh, did I mention that you don't have to live near me to be part of the team....we have demos in lots of different states!
Stampin' Up! VIRTUAL CONVENTION
Check here often over the next few days to share a little bit of the fun that's going on in Salt Lake City fromWednesday through Saturday....it's Stampin' Up! Convention time! Sadly for me, school is opening earlierand earlier every year...and I start In-Service next Monday. That means I needed thisweek to I have to go do some work setting up my classroom. I will be monitoring all of the demonstrators who are going to Twitter in real time from the convention! It's not half as fun as being in Salt Lake City with thousands of crazy demonstrators...but it will have to do this year. The ByYOU Stampers will be back next year though. If you join the team now, you can save money since the mini starter kit is still on sale!
Here's what's going on now....Tuesday night........demos are boarding planes, driving across the miles and meeting old friends at hotels in SLC........and it's not hard to spot them ......usually carrying loads of "swaps". I've been to ten conventions and have always managed to swap even before arriving in Salt Lake....yep...at even connecting airports or on the plane!
The convention is held at the "Salt Palace" Convention Center which is in the heart of downtown SLC...we usually stay at the Mariott that's located directly across the street. (You can be sure that there's swappin' going on in the lobby, elevators and hallways...already!)
Today the center was prepared for the demos to arrive bright and early Wed. morning for "check in day"....the decals are already on the doors! and the flags are already in the main hall. (Looking for the picture I saw posted on Twitter a while back.)
Check in Day is Wed. ...actually demos check in online before leaving home and had their nametags mailed to them ahead of time. Wall we have to do it walk up ...............well.............stand in a long line chatting it up with other demos and swapping like crazy.....but once the check in desks open it moves very quickly.......everyone picks up their special convention bag (each year is a different style) filled with our freebie stamp sets, other surprises and all of our make and take supplies.
The second long line Wed.......which moves a little slower ...will be to get into Memento Mall to shop for SU! logo stuff.........since this line usually takes longer (because they only let so many shoppers in at the same time!, we always go to the convention centerr at least a hour or more BEFORE the MM opens..........nextt year we'll have to go earlier because we still had a long wait last year...........after shopping we then go pick up our convention bags. MMall stuff is always soooooooooo cute, and often sells out quickly which means only convention goers get it......which is fair! I'll post pictures of the shopping and checking in when I get them on Wed.
Wednesday............Today was check in day. My direct downline, Michele, who's been to convention a bunch of times with me described it this morning perftectly ...."I can just feel the cool, unhumid air right now! The look of the mountain in the distance as we cross the street from the Marriott.....women in a hurry to stand in line before daybreak...toting their convention bags with their catalogs in them...".
Here's some pictures that have been posted by demos there.....tomorrow....is the big Opening Session ...more about that tomorrow. ***CLICK ON THE PICTURES TO MAKE THEM BIGGER!
The "covention bag"....totally different than any other one we've ever had...as always, SU! out does the past years! FREE STAMPS...found in the bag along with a catalog and mini and make and take supplies.
Our very own team mascot that you've already met, ByYOU Bear is pouting right now...she saw these bears who got to go to convention and she noticed that their demonstrators made them some cute little aprons....so now she expects ME to sew one for her........glue one together maybe...sew??? not likely!
Some of the other things that demonstrators did today were
....have some hands on time with the SU! Big Shot
..tour the SU! Home Office in Riverton,UT....which is awesome!
Many demonstrators are spending tonight (Wed.) catching up with old friends and/or downline team members. Some attend swaps or make and takes organized my team leaders or just demos who have met in one of the many online communities. Some are in their hotel rooms busily making MORE SWAPS using the free sets that they got this morning in their convention bag........no kidding!!! Usually the ByYOU Stampers get together on check in night since we have members who live in several other states.I give out my convention surprises and we all swap with each other. We keep in pretty casual and an early night after planning our early morning "stratergy". We (well, i AM) very serious about making sure that we get the best seats possible......always to the right (because we learned that the mic boom blocks the view on the right side!).....always very close up front...sometimes we even manage to hook us some FRONT ROW SEATS...thanks to some of our younger team members who run like hell when the doors first open. Sound nuts? Yep...it is...........more about that tomorrow.........If the ByYOU stampers were at convention we'd be making plans to meet at the convention center main stage doors no later than 6:30..tha's AM!
Wednesday.........Opening Day
Even though I wasn't there...I can tell you how it went......many crazy and blearyeyed demos showed up at the convention center before daybreak.....I am not kidding.....to sit with the other "early birds" by the doors that they would enter two or more hours later.........they sat in line, swapped, introduced themselves (because those of us who are die hard eary birds do it all three days!)....drink coffee....and plot the statergy for when the doors open..........so it's finally time and the SU! employees probably take a deep breath ......and then open the doors to let the demos do the dash for the seats....through a double line of SU! employees all telling us good morning and hello........the lights swirling.......the music blaring.......the demos running......not everyone......just us crazies who like to and want to be up front. (Even though there are no bad seats in the hall due to the two giant screens on both sides of the stage........after securing seats and "setting up camp" with our convention bags, swaps, team flags....everyone will wander throughout the hall for the next hour swapping and hugging and dancing and ....the show hadn't even started yet! Finally, the announcer says that they will begin in 5min. to take our seats........There's usually some sort of production number to tie in with the theme......and of course the introduction of our beloved Shelli Gardner.........then after her welcome there are updates and info and stampin' to get done.
Today they did lots of demos to show everyone the upcoming Build A Bear products (mine arrives next Tuesday, can't wait!).....and the BAB company mascot showed up for photo ops.....a fun announcement was that SU! demo Bear would be on sale in Memento Mall today....with her own SU! logo apron and a precious stamp that says "Life without stamps is unbearable!".......I'm havin' a stroke...although I've had ByYOU Bear for a few weeks now......she's already demanding that I buy or sew her a demo apron.
Then it was on to the new digital program........watch for info about when it goes on sale in just a month or so..........it's awesome, easy, and beautiful!.........more about that later.
Thursday.....................more excitement...........more swapping...........more stamping!
Here's a few pictures that other demos have posted around the internet
My Digital Studio is very close to being released...check out just the cards that were made....I'll post scrapbooking photos shortly.
****I WILL BE DOING A PHOTO CHRISTMAS CARD DEMO AS SOON AS I GET MY HANDS ON THE PROGRAM. I will be offering my services for personalized holiday cards too! Stay tune.
There's a wealth of information and inspiration on the demonstrator's side of the Stampin' Up! website....many of the stamped samples are sent in by demonstrators! Here is a great SHAKER card that I found there today. It was made by demonstrator Kotie Viljeon.

All Holidays Stamp Set #114916)
by Dawn Olchefske for the SU! Demo website
This is one of my favorite sets....just these words can be used in so many ways! Don't you have a special friend that you'd like to tell thank you to...or just let them know that they are special to you?
*Did you notice that the ribbon has dots on one side....how cute is that bow showing the solid side!!!
The "chair" pictures
I have two precious little granddaughters. Blair is 2mos. old and her big sister, Morgan is 3yrs. old. Before Morgan was born I came across a neat idea....take a picture every month on the date of the child's birth...in the same place. I bought a yellow chair and sofa set before Morgan was born. My daughter took Morgan's picture in the yellow chair every month until she was two and now every six months. It's so much fun to go back now and see how quickly she's grown and changed over just three years. The tradition continues with baby Blair...she's already had two "chair pictures" taken. Here's her most recent one...her two month picture.
Here's Morgan's 2mos. picture! Here's both of my girls ...Blair 2mos., Morgan 3yrs.
Kind and Caring Thoughts HOSTESS STAMP SET
Stampin' Tip: Use your Stampin' Write Markers ...color directly onto the flower image stamp...do the lightest color first, then darker color near the tips...stem color added to complete a multicolored image with ease! Before putting your stamp to the card stock "huff" your breath on it to make sure the ink has not dried out while you were coloring.
For more of a water colored looking image...use a small spray bottle (I got mine at Sally's Beauty Supply Store)...spritz a little bit of water (don't get too close to the stamp) onto the colored stamp before placing it onto the card stock to stamp the image.
