Accordion-folded Flower

Directions:

1) Cut card stock or Designer Series paper to 12" x 3/4".

2) Score strip every 1/4" the entire length of the card stock and accordion fold the score lines.

3) Adhere ends of card stock together (Sticky Strip works well). Let dry.

4) Holding the card stock with two hands, twist one edge of the strip into the center as shown to create a flower shape.

5) Adhere a punched circle to the flower center on one or both sides (Pop-Up Glue Dots work well) to hold shape in place.

Tip:

Experiment with different sizes and score intervals to create the desired shape of your flower.

Instructions

1. Cut "Spring" from Basic Gray textured card stock using Big Shot machine and Serif Essentials die, and cut "Hello" using Naturally Serif die.
2. To create S block, adhere 1" x 2-7/8" Designer Series paper to Kiwi Kiss textured card stock. Adhere "S" using Stampin' Dimensionals. Apply three small flower Rub-Ons to bottom right corner of card stock. Apply butterfly Rub-On to Whisper White card stock and cut out. Fold butterfly wings up and adhere body to Designer Series paper. Adhere Kiwi Kiss textured card stock to block.
3. To create P block, apply outlined stem Rub-On to 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" Designer Series paper. Adhere "P" to paper using Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere paper to Cameo Coral textured card stock and adhere to block.
4. To create R block, adhere 2" x 2-7/8" Designer Series paper to Baja Breeze textured card stock. Adhere "R" to card stock using Stampin' Dimensionals. I really love this card that was posted today in the Demo section of the SU! website. The ribbon knot used to make the middle of the flower and the leaves is a unique idea.....so simple too!  This card is really a quick one to make.. Making some flowers like this would also be a cute addition to a spring or girlie scrapbook layout.

SCRACH AND SNIFF TECHNIQUE 

Supplies Needed:

. A bold-style stamp set
. VersaMark® pad
. A sugar-free drink mix
. Clear Stampin' Emboss® powder
. Heat tool

1. Mix 1 part sugar-free drink mix to 1-1/2 parts Clear embossing powder (see Figure 1). For example, you would mix 1 teaspoon drink mix with 1-1/2 teaspoons of Clear embossing powder. You'll have a scented embossing powder!

2. Stamp your bold image in VersaMark ink on your card stock.

3. Heat Emboss the image using the scented embossing powder, just as you would with any other heat-embossing project (see Figure 2).

Note: For the scent, select a sugar-free flavored creamer or sugar-free drink mix for your project, such as sugar-free Kool-Aid® or cocoa. Why must the mix be sugar free? Because heated sugar crisps and browns. When choosing the right drink mix, consider both color and scent. Colored embossing powder will work for scratch-and-sniff images; however, unless you use embossing powder that is the same color as your drink mix, the colors may blend strangely.

Adhere to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.                                                Here's another version....direct to paper                                                                  Supplies Needed: VersaMark Card Stock Stampin' Emboss Powder Heat Tool Stamps Optional: Powder Pal 1. Apply VersaMark over entire piece of card stock using the direct-to-paper technique. Sprinkle embossing powder over image. 2. Melt powder using heat tool. Sprinkle on additional powder while the image is still hot, and reheat. Repeat up to three times.                                                        3. Press image into warm layers of embossing powder to create image. Punch or cut out image, and adhere to card.

Instructions This also uses the Curly Label punch. Item number 112966 on page 185. 1. Cut matchbox from Kiwi Kiss textured card stock using Sizzix Big Shot die-cutting machine and Matchbox Bigz XL die. Punch top of matchbox cover using Curly Label punch. Adhere clear window sheet (1-3/4" x 2") to inside of box cover. Assemble matchbox. 2. Tie Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around matchbox. 3. Stamp “I love you” image in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White card stock. Cut out and punch hole through image using 1/16" Circle punch. Thread linen thread through hole and tie around ribbon on box. Secure card stock to box using Stampin’ Dimensionals. 4. Punch heart from Chocolate Chip Patterns Designer Series paper using Heart to Heart punch. Sand edges of wide heart and adhere to box cover using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Instructions

1. Cut flower and top note from fabric of choice using Big Shot machine and Top Note and Build a Flower dies.
2. Sew Top Note to towel using sewing machine and thread. Sew flower on top of top note using sewing machine and thread.
3. Sew button to towel using embroidery thread.
   

 

 

                                             ROCK AND ROLL TECHNIQUE

   

1] Tap stamp on light-colored ink pad.

2] Press edges of stamp in a rolling motion on darker ink pad, being careful not to ink the center of the stamp.

QUICK TIP
Always use the lightest colored ink first to avoid getting dark ink on your light ink pad.
