1. Scallop bottom edge of Old Olive textured card stock (3-7/8" x 4") using Scallop Edge punch. Mark top center point. Measure 2" down on right side and mark; repeat on left side. Score diagonal lines from center point to each 2" point. Fold score lines and adhere ends in back.
2. Adhere Old Olive Patterns Designer Series paper (3-7/8" x 3-1/4") to top of Old Olive textured card stock, folding corners around back of bookmark.
3. Stamp elephant image in Jet Black StazOn ink on Naturals White card stock. Watercolor image with Going Gray and Rose Red ink using blender pens. Punch out image using 1-3/4" Circle punch, and adhere to Metal Edge tag.
4. Punch flower from Rose Red textured card stock using Trio Flower punch. Punch hole in center of flower using 1/16" Circle punch, and attach Silver brad. Adhere flower to tag with Mini Glue Dot, and adhere tag to bookmark using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
5. Tie Old Olive 1/2" striped grosgrain ribbon around bookmark.

An now....please humor me for just a moment while I show off my granddaughters! I'm having so much fun this summer being able to spend so much time with them while school is closed....and they only live about 5min. away. Morgan was 3yrs. old in April and her baby sister, Blair is almost 6weeks old!

Technique Tip......Faux Linen
Directions:
1) Rub a sanding block or sandpaper over a piece of Glossy White card stock, from top to bottom and then side to side.
2) Ink a sponge or sponge dauber, and rub the ink over the sanded surface to create the linen look.
3) Stamp your image.

Happy 12th. Stampin' Up! Anniversary to me!
I can't believe that I'm beginning my 13th. year with SU! So many stamps...so many new products...so many great new friends & precious memories.
I can't begin to explain what being a part of this awesome company over these years as meant to me ...it would sound very hokey, I'm sure!
Each convention that I've attended has been awesome...but my very first will always hold a special place in my heart. Thanks to Michele, my first recruit, who made me realize that we should go. Traveling....anywhere...was not something that I thought could be managed as a single mom...but it happened because I wanted to work for it! Meeting my sweet long distance upline "mom", Tracie...and her direct Janice, my "grannie" there for the first time was awesome.
I have made so many new friends through my SU! business and over the years...people that I would never have met otherwise.....both customers and fellow demonstrators. I think one of my fondest memories has to be after Katrina ........SU! was so good to us...contacting my downline to see how they could help. They sent Dina...who lived out of state for several months a brand new starter kit! Demonstrators, who were only online names to me, began sending mountains of school supplies for my school that had been flooded.....one even drove from MN. to our school with her son to deliver supply filled backpacks for EVERY student in my school (500+ at the time). All because of Stampin' Up!
You see....I get a bit sappy when I look back on the past years......how quickly they have past. Thank you for being a part of it.

Technique Spotlight:
Two-Step Stampin' and Variations
Directions:
1) Stamp the base image.
2) Position and stamp the overlay image.
OR
1) Stamp base image in VersaMark ink on any Neutral card stock. Sponge Stampin' Pastels over solid image.
2) Stamp overlay image in VersaMark ink over solid image. Sponge pastels in a darker coordinating color, or even the same color, over the second stamped image.
OR
1) Color directly on the solid stamp image with a Watercolor Wonder Crayon.
2) Spritz the stamp with water.
3) Stamp the image on card stock or watercolor paper.
4) Wait for base image to dry, and stamp overlay image with coordinating color of ink.

These are our team's mascots....Miss Bella Rose Sock Monkey and Ms. ByYOU Stampin' Gator. They go with us to all Stampin' Up! conventions and events and love spending time in my Stampin' Palace (aka: my garage filled with Stampin' stuff!). Ms. ByYOU has been around for about 11 of my 12 years as a demonstrator! I thought that having a gator as our team mascot was a must in order to reflect our Louisiana roots to the team! Two years ago we welcomed Miss Bella Rose to our group as ByYOU's assistant in charge is fun times! I've actually had her around for several more years since she orginally came to live with me as an addition to my Sock Monkey collection. When Stampin' Up! decided to introduce a sock monkey set Miss Bella Rose insisted that she become part of our mascot team. I took this picture of them today because it was a very special day.....................can you guess what they are doing? If you want to know....just scroll down a bit!

Today they helped me open this box.....containing our first peek at the BRAND NEW SU! 2009-2010 CATALOG!!!!! ....and my pre-ordered In Color products, hostess stamp sets, punch and more. It's always so much fun seeing what the company has been working on for so long ....and we are never disappointed! Instructions Yum cookie1. Fold and adhere checkered parchment paper to create pouch for cookie. Punch half circle from top of cookie wrap using 1-3/4" Circle punch. Place cookie inside. 2. Tie Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around cookie wrap. 3. Stamp star image in Night of Navy ink on tag. Stamp “Yum” in Ruby Red ink on tag. Punch hole in top of tag using Crop-A-Dile. Tie tag to Chocolate Chip ribbon using linen thread. | |

Celebrate Summer #11
Does everyone at your workplace carry around waterbottles that all look alike? Are you hosting a family reunion or neighborhood block party this summer? I thought this idea was one of those "DUH!!! What a good idea that is" projects. It's also a way to use up some of your left over scraps of our great designer paper.
*Cut a strip of printed paper (two sided looks great since you can see through the bottle to the other side!)....measure it to have a little bit of an overlap.
*Use some laminating paper to cover your strip and make it waterproof.
*Add a piece of self adhesive velcro to the end.....now you can reuse it over and over again!
By making strips with different paper prints...everyone can have easily identifiable bottles.................or CUPS!
TECHNIQUE TIP:
Using bleach instead of ink will provide a unique image. First of all, each color card stock responds to the bleach differently...so check first on a scrap before stamping on your actual project. (Sometimes the color you get isn't white like you would expect!) Secondly, the image isn't always as "crisp" as you would get with ink...which can be kinda cool.
*To make an "ink pad" to use with bleach- just fold up some layers of paper towel then pour a little bit of bleach on it...a little goes a long way! You can also try "inking" the bleach directly to your stamp with those new bleach pens. BE SURE TO CLEAN OFF YOUR STAMP RIGHT AWAY WHEN USING BLEACH.
Project Idea:
Make a quick 6x6 album with the colors of your wedding ...or your favorite bride's wedding featuring just unposed pictures that friends took on that special day.
By keeping your colors to three or less with one neutral....and by using SU! designer print papers...you can get this type of album completed in just a few hours.
Make a Heritage album with the same layout on each page but featuring the formal wedding photo for each bride in your family would make a very special keepsake.

- Stamp raccoon image in Basic Black ink, mosquito image in Creamy Caramel ink, and "Grrreat!" in Real Red ink on Whisper White card stock bag topper.
- Adhere strip of Real Red card stock to bag topper.
- Stamp two stars in So Saffron ink on Whisper White card stock. Cut out and adhere to Whisper White card stock using Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Use a printer to print the words "Camping" and "treats" on Creamy Caramel textured card stock. Cut out in shape of sign. Color edges of sign in Creamy Caramel ink using stamping sponges. Adhere to bag topper.
- Stamp s'more image in Creamy Caramel ink on Whisper White card stock. Watercolor image in Creamy Caramel ink using blender pen. Cut out and adhere to sign on bag topper.
